- Zastava Južne Koreje usvojena je 6.3.1883.
- Na bijeloj podlozi nalazi se crveno-plavi simbol yin yanga
i tri crne pruge na uglovima zastave.
- Simbol yin yang predstavlja filozofske ideje svemira.
- Pruge označavaju:
Silu = nebo, proljeće, istok, vrline
Polje = zemlju, ljeto, zapad, pravdu
Zračenje = sunce, jesen, jug, uljudnost
Ždrijelo = mjesec, zimu, sjever, znanje ili mudrost

- Središnji dio zelenoga Y uovičen je bijelom bojom.
- Nema službene simbolike.

tog dana su se ujedinili sjeverni i južni jemen.
